| We are schooner-rigged and rakish with a long and lissome
hull, And we fly the pretty colors of the crossbones and the
skull; Dead men foul the scuppers and the prisoners fill the
chains, and the paint-work all is splattered with other peoples
brains. A point which tells against us and a fact to be deplored, we chase the goodly merchantmen and lay their ships
aboard. They were raided, they were looted, they were scuttled till
they sank, And those who’d not cooperate left by the medium of the plank.
The schooners and their merry crews are laid away to rest, in a port at the Callhouse Inn where we’ve made a landing
nest; We’re pig-tailed, quidding pirates, and pretty pranks we’ve
played, hounded but never run a-ground by the naughty Board of Trade.
The spirits of the dead we caused still accompany us this
day, refusing to sink to beneath the depths but remaining in the
fray; We sing the songs of sailors enjoying tobacco, wenches and
rum, entertaining ourselves with guests who have come against our
guns. Until we again hoist the jolly roger on our well-conducted
ship, until each displays a brace of pistols and a cutlass at the
hip; We’ll raise our glasses hardily to the unfortunate that
we’ve met, on the sunset Isle of Corona where uninvited will have
regrets.

There is nothing scarier than realityAs one of the oldest original houses in Corona,in a corner of what's left of California's once largest lemon ranch, you will find the long- passed are more than just memories. This October, history may be more alive than you can bear.
| Historic Call House
Standing alone amongst the trees of a hidden Corona lemon grove, is the house that A.F. Call built. Mr. Call became one of the most successful citrus growers in the west, but he's infamously remembered as being run down by a Santa Fe steam locomotive when his car stalled on the tracks while changing gears. His head was said to have been found 75' from the rest of the wreckage.
