Expected to graduate in May 2012, with a BFA in drawing and painting from Cal State University Fullerton, Jasmine has spent the last 9 years of her life working and academically training in human construction, perceptual figure drawing/painting, portraiture, and experimental drawing/painting. Her current artwork integrates experimental materials and methods to approach the human form: using observation, theories, and research from a range of academic fields that explore the human body, mind, and micro/macro social structures.
Although she has an affinity for experimentation and concept, she also has a profound respect for the tradition and discipline of academic drawing and painting. Therefore, Jasmine believes that in teaching drawing and painting it is important for students to have access to building technical skills while engaging their artistic interests. She places a large emphasis on individual growth.
